Jacob Turner
President
I began working with Richard Yoerk and Express Personnel in 2001 as a key leader in business
development. In
2003 I took over the day to day management and development for Rovers Security, a subsidiary of YS2
Group,
the parent company of Express Personnel and Rovers Security. In May of 2007 I formed a new company named
RS Managements Services Co., which for that year managed all of Rovers Security’s event accounts. In the
beginning of January 2008 RS Management Services Co. purchased Rovers Security Co.
Prior to Rovers Security, I served 3 ½ years in the United States Army National Guard where I applied
discipline
and motivation in my role as Squad Leader. Security experience was obtained through various field and
garrison
security details. Later I worked in sales both outside and in, then became the General Manager of a
modeling
agency, putting to use my management skills as well as sales and customer service.
I have worked closely with the Oregon Department of Public Security Standards and Training to insure
that all
Rovers Security officers are certified and trained as required by the State of Oregon. In addition, I
have
orchestrated an internal training program designed to keep our officers proficient at the state mandated
skills, as well as offering new skills in customer service and numerous situational trainings developed
to
teach skills in handling threats and natural disasters.
I was born and raised in Portland Oregon, graduated from Benson High School attended Mt. Hood Community
College
and Portland Community College.
Eric Bjork
Portland Branch Manager
I am an Oregon native that grew up in the rural town of Newberg, about 30 minutes west of Portland. At
the
age of 10, I moved to Gladstone, OR where I attended middle school and high school, graduating in 1996.
Upon
graduation, I attended Oregon State University, where I studied both business administration and
Japanese
language. I decided to take a break from school in 1999 and found myself working various jobs,
eventually
finding my way into the restaurant industry. I worked as a server and assistant manager with different
companies
in Oregon, California and Washington, and have been working in that industry since 2001. In 2008, with
some
encouragement from my wife, I decided to finish my college education, so I enrolled at Portland State
University
where I studied Human Resource Management, earning my Bachelor's Degree in 2011.
I began working at Rovers in early 2012 as part of an internship to gain some real-world experience in
the
HR field. I returned to Rovers in 2013, and assumed the role of Human Resource Manager. I have been with
the company ever since, and consider myself lucky to be part of such a wonderful team!
I am a huge sports fan and am very passionate about the Portland Trailblazers. I grew up idolizing
Clyde, Terry,
Jerome and the rest of the Blazers and have followed them closely through the years (even the bad ones).
I love to enjoy the outdoors with my wife and kids so you might find us on the slopes of Mt. Hood in the
winter or playing some disc golf in the summer.
Cassandra Cason
Boardman Branch Manager
I bring more than 20 years of Human Resources Management experience and a demonstrated track record of
building
rapidly growing business infrastructure to the table. As part of the early technology boom in the
Pacific
Northwest, my role as HR Director influenced the successes of $50 to $300 million dollar companies. My
involvement
with 5 start-ups, whether the 3 rd or 30 th employee hired, garnered the valuable and tireless work
ethic
I bring to Rovers Security. Since coming on board, I have experienced roles in Security, Events, HR and
Field
Management, moving on to my current position as Eastern Oregon Branch Manager. My commitment is to
continue
to solidify infrastructure and contribute to the overall expansion goals company-wide.
A rare native Oregonian, I attended Oregon State University and valiantly rival the University of
Oregon Duck
fans in the organization. My passion is reading biographical history, big family-style cooking, petting
every
dog I see, and being a proud Nana.
Ally Turner
Office Manager
I began working with R.S. Management Co. in 2007, as a communications specialist. Between all the
staff and multiple job sites, it's no easy task keeping fifty mobile phones working
properly. It is an ongoing duty.
I’ve always been a people person, and I strive on customer relations. Therefore, needless to say, I
absolutely love what I do.
Prior to R.S. Management, I had several different jobs ranging
from performing car maintenance to being a licensed chiropractic assistant, an auditor, and an
interpreter. The list of different positions and responsibilities that I’ve been a part of is not short by any
means.
However, I keep going back to Customer Relations, and I pride myself in this department. Present me
with a problem and I will find a solution.
I am a proud wife of an entrepreneur and a mom of two amazing girls. When not working, I’m
spending time with my family, reading, or gardening.
Kyle Williams
Operations Manager
I graduated high school in 2004 and began my working life by joining the U.S. Navy. I served as a
parachute
rigger aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk (cv-63) in Yokosuka, Japan. Upon completion of my tours, I returned
home
to Portland, Oregon. I began work as a supervisor with an exterior building maintenance company in 2007.
During that time I was responsible for 3 different crews of 4 individuals. I heard about Rovers Security
from a friend in 2009, and have been with the company ever since.
I was raised in the south with strong southern values. During my time in the Navy, I learned that
through teamwork,
success is inevitable. One of my mottos’ is: We succeed as a team or we fail as a team. Adaptability and
being able to overcome obstacles is one of my strong points, and is a necessity to work at Rovers
Security.
No matter how unique our clients’ needs are, we will succeed through our teamwork and communication.
Michael Murphy
Assistant Manager
I am a Marine Corp Veteran that served in Somalia and Kosovo with the 1st Marine Division. I adopted
the core
values of Honor, Courage and Commitment and feel they have served me well in civilian life.
I have been with Rovers Security for two years and have worked my way up to a supervisory position. I
enjoy
my job and working with other staff members as well as the clients we serve.
Paul Palmer
Assistant Manager
I started with Rovers in March of 2012. I have worked most of our corporate sites and events. In
October of
2015, I was asked if I would join our Supervisor team. I gladly accepted and have worked as a supervisor
for both our corporate sites and events. I recently accepted a new challenge with the company, becoming
Assistant
Field Manager, and look forward to the adventure ahead of me.
I have had many jobs over the years; from retail sales, to driving truck across the United States.
Every job
has had its challenges, both good and bad. Rovers is one of the few companies I have worked for that I
feel
is more than just a job. I am grateful for having the opportunity to work for and grow with them.
Paul Monroe
Assistant Manager
I've lived in Oregon my entire life. After I graduated high school in 2008 I had various jobs before
joining Rovers in 2013. I heard about them from a friend who worked for Rovers and knew that I had an
interest in working security. After working corporate sites for several years I became a supervisor in
2016. I have enjoyed my time here and have gained a lot of valuable experience. Outside of work I am a
pretty big sports nerd. I'm a huge fan of the Blazers and Ducks. Still waiting for a championship. I
love playing basketball and I'm able to play at open gyms a couple of times per week.
Zach Christensen
Assistant Manager
I was born in Pendleton, Oregon; “Let ‘er Buck!” Shortly after I was born, my family moved to the
neighboring town of Hermiston where I lived out my childhood until middle school when we moved to
Stanfield, Oregon. Stanfield is a one-stoplight, everyone knows everyone, quad-riding in the middle of the
road, and donkeys are vehicles kinda town. I worked retail for about three years and have been in customer
service for my entire work life. I came to Rovers Security from the Air Force where I was Security Forces
(Military Police). I learned so much and the experience was life changing!
When I first started here at Rovers in 2016 I knew no one, but the company camaraderie quickly changed
that! I started my Rovers journey working at a site out in Boardman, Oregon; working a gate where we
control access. After that I moved to a patrol roving officer, and then became a supervisor. Shortly after
my promotion to supervisor, I had an awesome opportunity to become a site supervisor for a brand new
contract. I took the bull by the horns and gave it my best! I learned so much from that experience, and
continue to learn from it. About one year later, I was promoted to Assistant Manager where I am today! I’m
so thankful for everyone who’s helped me get where I am, many of them are also with this amazing company!
Chip Von Gunten
Supervisor
I came to Rovers in October of 2016 where I started as one of the first Hospital Security Officers at Grande Ronde Hospital after leaving Tongue Point Job Corp Center where I got my start in Campus Security. I quickly embraced the challenge of the new contract and in March of 2017 was promoted to the Site Supervisor at GRH. I was also involved with the start up/training of the Officer Team for Rovers second Hospital contract in October of 2017 at CHI St Anthony Hospital. I am very passionate about providing the very best customer service and promoting the safest environment possible for everyone at GRH. In 2019 I was asked to be a member of the GRH Work Place Violence Committee where I work at helping shape that safer environment for Staff, patients and visitors.
I grew up in rural Eastern Oregon where I was involved in all areas of Agriculture. I was a member of the FFA in high school earning a Product Ag Proficiency Award and my State Farmer Degree. I’ve raised my own livestock (cows/pigs), baled hay, harvested wheat, changed irrigation pipe and worked on farm equipment. This experience is where I believe I learned my strong work ethic and passion for helping others. After graduating high school and attending college at BMCC in the Production Ag program for a year, I enlisted in the US Navy and served as a Submarine Radioman. My time in the Navy is where I believe my passion for protecting others began. I have several years of customer service experience working as a water system operator for two municipalities, a head greens keeper at a golf course, a pump and irrigation sales/service person, and being the assistant manager of an irrigation district. I’m a 3rd generation welder/fabricator by trade working for several years for my family and on my own, and when I’m not working for Rovers, I still return home to the Walla Walla Valley where I have a service truck and do mobile welding and repair during the Spring, Summer and Fall.
In my off time I enjoy golfing, hiking, and spending time with my wife and kids!
Patrick Thelen
Supervisor
I am 28 years old, and have lived in Estacada, Oregon for most of my life. I have been with the company
since April of 2014, and became a Supervisor this past November. The people and friends I work with, and
the opportunities that Rovers have given me, is the reason why I've remained with the company.
Danny Delmar
Supervisor
I am 31 years old I am from Kelso Washington. I started with the company on March 13th 2018. I started
with the company because it was a good job opportunity something different and I absolutely love my job.
I was recently promoted to Supervisor. I have 2 children a boy and a girl. I guess I enjoy being a
security guard because I’m good at the job, and am always alert about my surroundings at every job site.
Keith Hutchison
Supervisor
I was born and raised in John Day, Oregon. With a father who is still an active colonel in the military
and a family laden in law enforcement, I learned early on a self-discipline that underscores much of my
goal-oriented success philosophy. A love for the outdoors, particularly the mountains, honed my passion
for bow hunting and fishing. Equally passionate about sports, I was an athlete from a very young age, all
through high school and nationally accomplished in track, wrestling, football and basketball. This passion
propelled me into kickboxing, boxing and MMA where I competed at a professional level for 13 years. As a
4-time champion, I trained several pro and amateur title holders in various gyms I owned for 11 years
expanding to Walla Walla, John Day, Lakeview, Prineville, La Grande and Pendleton. We combined 19 styles
of martial arts that made for some of the best MMA fighters in the country. We trained sheriff
departments, city and state police and courthouse personnel throughout Oregon. I also trained instructors
in hand-to-hand combat.
Peppered throughout my athletic career I spent four years with Wildland Fire, fighting wildfires during
high season and a few years as a bouncer and private bodyguard. Most importantly, I’m a devoted father of
three children and one big, big dog.
Rovers hired me in June of 2018 as hospital security where my verbal de-escalation and defensive tactical
skills have been put to good use. It is here that I am committed to the growth, compassion and expertise
of our hospital division.
